LLDC organised LLDC Natyotsav 2024 at Bhuj in which the best three dramas of LLDC Drama Competition 2024 were performed.

Seminar by Dalpatbhai Danidhariya held on August 5-7 at LLDC, with over 20 participants from Shrujan, LLDC, and Agrocel. The seminar provided insights into Kutch’s sanctuaries, wildlife, flora, minerals, and tourist spots. It also discussed the list of dignitaries who have visited Kutch in the past, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage, arts, and crafts. A truly enriching experience!

LLDC organized LLDC ART & CRAFT COMPETITION 2024. This competition was organized with the aim of making students aware of the handicrafts and culture of Kutch and to awaken creativity in them. 130 students from 6 schools across Kutch showcased their talents in this exciting one-day event.

The eleventh exhibition at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum was inaugurated with an artisan workshop. This exhibition showcases the beautiful embroidery stitch known by various names across different communities. The Ahir community calls it ‘Baawadiyo’, the Mutwa community refers to it as ‘Gotanv’, the Sodha-Jadeja and Meghwaad Maarwaada communities know it as ‘Hooramaji’, while the Rabaari community calls it ‘Naakaaru’. The Meghwaad Maaru community names it ‘Haramji’, and in the Node, Haalepotra, Raaysi, and Pathan communities, it is known as ‘Hooramaj’. This exhibition celebrates the rich cultural heritage and the artistry of these communities, preserving their unique embroidery traditions.

LLDC celebrated International Yog Day. Yoga Trainer Tejal Tripathi of the Gujarat Yog Board led a yoga shibir with Shrujan staff. Experimented with different yoga Asanas and solved the related questions and also gave the proper guidance.

On the occasion of International Museum Day, the research department gave a presentation on the entire research process. Together with some interesting facts about the museums in India.

On the occasion of the 91st birth anniversary of Reverend Chanda Shroff (KAKI) by the Shrujan family, the "Artisan felicitation ceremony" was held on February 27. 181 master artisans working with Shrujan were felicitated in this event.

In collaboration with Madhya Pradesh, LLDC presented LLDC Winter Festival 2024. There were cultural performances from M.P. & Kutch such as dance, music. Also other attraction such as craft bazaar, craft workshops, hands-on activities and food from M.P.

The tenth exhibition 'Mamadbhai Je Umbhre, Ajrakh: Family, Fabric and Fashion' was inaugurated at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful artifacts of Ajrakh block printing.

The LLDC Festival of Music 2023 took place this year from October 27 to 29. This three-day event celebrates different musical genres and traditions.

On the 7th Punyatithi of Pujya Chandaben Shroff -KAKI, founder of SHRUJAN, LLDC organized "LLDC Traditional Craft Competition - Kalanjali 2023". Participants from all over Kutch took part in 9 different traditional craft competitions.

After a huge success of LLDC Natya Spardha 2023 (LLDC Drama Competition 2023). LLDC organised LLDC Natyotsav 2023 at Bhuj in which the best three dramas of LLDC Drama Competition 2023 were performed.

On the occasion of the International Museum Day 2023, LLDC organized a seminar on "Museums, Sustainability and Wellbeing".

As a part of Pujya Kantisen Shroff 'Kaka' Birth centenary Year celebration, on the occasion of 2nd Punyatithi of late Shri Kantisen Shroff, LLDC organized an online-offline "LLDC Painting Competition: CHITRANJALI - 2023" with the support of Kutch Artist Society. More than 300 participants from all over Kutch participated.

The ninth exhibition 'Dastaan E Gul-Duzee: Embroideries of Afghanistan' was inaugurated at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful artifacts of embroidery from Afghanistan.

On the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of Reverend Chanda Shroff (KAKI) by the Shrujan family, the "Artisan felicitation ceremony" was held on February 27. 222 master artisans from more than 30 villages working with Shrujan were felicitated in this programme.

In previous years, LLDC organized the Folk Festival, which was presented as a winter festival in 2023. In collaboration with Sahajeevan and the Centre for Pastoralism, LLDC presented the exhibition Living Lightly - Journeys with Pastoralists. There were also cultural performances such as theatre, dance, music and film screenings, craft bazaar, craft workshops, hands-on activities and food.

In 2023, LLDC organised Natya Spardha (Drama Competition) for the first time in collaboration with Bhavan's Cultural Centre, Andheri. This competition was held in Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Surat. A total of 22 plays were performed by different groups. Of these, a total of 32 categories were awarded at Bhavan's Cultural Centre, Andheri Mumbai.

Kutch Nav Nirman ABHIYAN with many NGOs celebrated his Birth Centenary Year at LLDC for his exemplary contribution to social development, visionary guidance and immense involvement with the communities for their holistic development. They worked on thematic interventions like Jalmandir-water conservation, Ecosystem Restoration, Education and Literature, Redefining Traditional Crafts and Kutchi Folk Music(Reyan).

The eighth exhibition in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum shows the glorious history and future of weaving by Vishram Valji and his family.

LLDC organised for the first time a 3-day music event "Festival of Music 2022" The festival presented some versatile forms of music from all over India. It spread the melody of various music genres like Sufi, Indian folk music, contemporary fusion, Kabir-Vani, Aaradhi-Vani etc.

The one- day Navratri celebration was held at LLDC with the support of Agrocel Ind. Pvt. Ltd. Family members of all Shroff Group of Companies employees and NGOs participated. The winners of different categories were felicitated with gifts and there was a gift for all children below 7 years (100 kits).

On the occasion of the 6th Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI the entire staff of Shrujan and the members of the Shroff family gathered in the auditorium to express their feelings for Kaki.

The promotion of the Gujarati film 'RAAKH' took place at LLDC. All the leading team members of the film were present on the occasion.

The new gallery 'UNDER THE EMBROIDERED SKY' was inaugurated in the LLDC Craft Museum. Currently, we are exhibiting the embroideries of Ahir community in this gallery.

A seminar on organ donation awareness was held by Shri Dilip Deshmukh and Dr. Mukesh Chande at LLDC. Many lives could be saved and many deaths avoided if organ donation is done at the right time.

LLDC celebrated the World Music Day under the title 'LLDC IDOL': an inter-group singing competition-2022. Employees of LLDC, Shrujan Creations, Agrocel, Solaris and VRTI-VRDI participated in this competition.

Yogacharya Vijay Sheth of the Parivartan Foundation led a yoga shibir with Shrujan staff. The House of Sparrow and certificates were distributed to all participants.

LLDC collaborated with Sindhology-Adipur to study how Kutch and Sindh cultures blend and form a single entity. In the morning session, experts spoke about Sindh culture. A drama in Sindhi language was also performed. In the evening programme, Sindhi folk music was performed by Mazharuddin Mutva Group.

The seventh exhibition 'Sindh and Kutch - Connected via embroideries?' was inaugurated at the Inspiration Gallery of LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful artifacts of embroidery from Sindh and Kutch.

On this occasion, all the employees of Shrujan Trust, the Shroff family and all those who learned a lot from Kaka participated. People from different categories recalled their experiences and lessons from Kaka.

Ramkrishna Mandal-Bhuj & Ramkrishna Mission-Rajkot organised a classical Indian music concert. Revered Swami Kruparanadaji of Ramkrishna Mission, Itanagar performed classical divine music. LLDC provided a platform and supported this concert.

Kutch Nav Nirman ABHIYAN organised the programme "Kaka Janmshatabdi Vandana" together with LLDC. Kantisen Shroff Kaka's ideology will be carried forward by various NGOs and companies CSR who have taken an oath to complete this task for one year. ABHIYAN, Kala Varso, VRTI, SFT, Agrocel CSR, SETU, VRTI Bhavnagar, GSS and KFFFDT initiated various interventions in different areas.

The sixth exhibition - 'Of Braids & Magic' - was dedicated to the braided craft creations of Errol Pires Nelson (ex-faculty of NID Ahmedabad) from Ahmedabad. The exhibition was inaugurated in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with fine artifacts of braiding craft.

Handicraft Service Centre - Bhuj organised a handicraft awareness programme in LLDC. Between December 8 and 14, Handloom Week is celebrated in India.

LLDC organised a workshop on garment design with buttons by fashion designer Anuj Sharma. He works mainly on sustainable apparel design. Aristans, staff and other interested people participated in this workshop.

LLDC organised a seminar on posture awareness led by Dr. Hemakshi Basu, a renowned physiotherapist from Mumbai.

On the occasion of the 5th Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI, the entire Shrujan staff and the Shroff family members gathered in the auditorium and expressed their feelings for Kaki.

The Kutch Weavers Association, in collaboration with LLDC, organised an event to celebrate National Handloom Weaving Day. Government officials were invited to talk with the weavers.

The fifth exhibition 'Tanchhoi' was opened in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful works of Tanchhoi Banarasi weaving art.

In 2021, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, LLDC decided not to organise the Heritage Festival (in the past we called it Folk Festival). So we celebrated on virtual platforms with Bhavan's Cultural Centre in Mumbai. Virtually, Kutch and Saurashtra presented cultural programmes.

The fourth exhibition 'Banaras - A Brocade Story' featuring artifacts made of Banarasi brocade was opened at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum. No official opening took place due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

On the occasion of 4th birth anniversary of the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI) and the 50th anniversary of Shrujan, Shrujan felicitated retired artisans, posthumously deceased artisans and those who worked for Shrujan Creation for more than 25-35 years. A total of 900 women artisans were honoured at the celebration.

On the occasion of Shrujan's 50th anniversary celebration, a long service award ceremony was held to honour employees who have worked for the organisation for more than 10 to 45 years with a gift and a certificate.

The 'LLDC Folk Festival 2020 with Jammu & Kashmir, An Expression of Unity in Diversity' from January 19-23, 2020, celebrating crafts, food, dance and music. During this festival, Kutch exchanged its culture with Jammu and Kashmir.

The legendary drama 'M. K. Gandhi Hajir Ho' played at LLDC Auditorium. The star cast Deepak Antani(Gandhiji), Mehul Buch(Advocate), and the team did a great job.

The famous Gujarati film 'Hellaro' was screened at the LLDC auditorium. As an art partner, LLDC gave a platform to the target audience.

Mr. Sotaro, Ms. Sotaro and Mr. hung gave a presentation on Japanese culture. They presented a folklore about Japanese weaving techniques. At the end, they demonstrated their clothing, a Japanese kimono, and the participants had fun wearing it.

The consulting curator of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay, Mr. Anupam Sah, gave a presentation on the care of the collection at international exhibitions.

LLDC organized a seminar on gender and sexuality awareness in the workplace conducted by Hamsafar Organization, Mumbai.

LLDC organised a seminar on autism by Ummid Child Development Centre from Mumbai.

Schools from Kutch district participated in the 'Art & Craft Competition 2019'. Students learned about crafts and were given a demonstration of traditional crafts of Kutch and a competition. There was a quiz competition to encourage their interest in art and craft.

The third exhibition "Zari - Fabric and Metal in Harmony" was inaugurated in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with fine Zardozi artifacts.

On the occasion of the 3rd Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI Zardozi artisans demonstrated their elaborate zari work. Tapas Upadhyay, a singer from Madhyapradesh, sang Kabir Bhajans for the museum visitors. There was also free hands-on pottery making for museum visitors.

Yogacharya Mohansinh Rana of the Trapti International Yoga Foundation led a yoga shibir with Shrujan staff.

LLDC collaborated with Agrocel for the World Environment Day program. Ecologist and bird lover Mr. J. K. Tiwari gave a presentation on the fauna of Kutch and tree plantation at LLDC campus.

In the morning, there was a film screening on various museums in India and Elocution competition on "Importance of museums in today's time". In the evening, expert Narendra Gor gave a lecture on "Astronomy in day to day life".

Summer camp for children in the age group 5 to 15, organised by LLDC with various activities such as storytelling, painting, dancing, music, crafts, stargazing and a magic show. We also organised haritage walk in Bhuj.

The second exhibition titled "Aari - A one-Stitch-Many-splendoured embroidery" was inaugurated in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum. Various artifacts of Aari embroidery were exhibited.

The 'LLDC Folk Festival 2019' presented NAMASTE a celebration of crafts, food, dance and music from January 19-23, 2019. During this festival, Kutch exchanged its culture with the Northeast Indian states.

The LLDC Craft Museum's Inspiration Gallery was inaugurated on October 25, 2018. The first exhibition displayed devotional textiles such as Pichhvai, Phad painting, Mata Ni Pachhedi, Jain embroidered textiles and Thangka paintings.

This book is a remarkable, first-of-its-kind collection of 35 essays on the future of India written by a wide range of authors-activists, researchers, and media professionals-published as part of LLDC and an author's dialogue with public sector representatives, leaders, NGOs, and individuals.

Tarasha Designworks, Rachita Sareen showcased her artwork and also gave a workshop on paper cutting on the 2nd Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI. There were also demonstrations of pottery work, embroidery and mud work.

The Kutch Police Department held a seminar on traffic awareness and rules.

50 schools of Kutch district participated in the 'Art & Craft Competition 2018'. Students engaged in arts and crafts and participated in a demonstration of traditional crafts of Kutch. There was a quiz competition to encourage their interest in arts and crafts.

On the occasion of World Music Day, the local Sugam Sangeet artist group of Kamlesh Solanki and Vipul Maheta presented Gujarati Sugam Sangeet.

The late Kantisen Shroff (KAKA) gave a talk on Eniverment Awareness and advised taking nature more seriously and incorporating it into daily life.

Between the ages of 90 and 95, the late Kantisen Shroff (KAKA) took a creative approach to express his inner self and creating canvas paintings. The exhibit, "Kaka's Artwork," opened Feb. 27, the 85th birth anniversary of the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI).

LLDC initiated a large festival called 'Folk Festival' that celebrated crafts, food, dance and music from January 10 to 13, 2018. The theme of this festival was a cultural exchange on Kutch and Gujarat.

Creativity was the mantra in the life of KAKI. On the occasion of the first obituary of the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI), the Shroff family and Shrujan staff participated in creative craft activities.

Nature Cure Centre doctors conducted a seminar at LLDC on natural medicine (Naturopath) and gave a diet plan that is effective in our daily life.

LLDC celebrated the World Music Day under the title 'Sangeet Reyan'. Folk music artists of Kala Varso Trust performed Kachchhi folk music songs, classical songs and Hindi film songs at Raaga harmony.

Dr. Yagnesh Dave ( in charge curator of the Kutch Museum) visited our museum gallery. He then gave a talk on "Focusing on preventive conservation for Textiles with Practical Reference to Baroda & Junagadh Museum". Ami Shroff then demonstrated with the LLDC team how the LLDC conserves textiles. Concurrently, there was a demonstration of Kutch crafts and an exhibition of paintings by Kutch artists.

The drama "Lohi nu Tipu" by the famous and legendary Kutchi author Jayant Khatri was performed by KSKV University students under the direction of Prof. Dr. Basiya.

Stress management seminar conducted by Swami Pradiptanand Sarswatiji of Aarsh Adhyayan Kendra, Bhuj. Respected Swamiji gave many examples and explanations on how to make our life stress free.

Dr. Mahesh Thakkar (Head of the Archeology Department of KSKV University ) conducted a seminar on "Kachchh Ek Jivant Prayogshala" (Kutch - a living archeological laboratory). He explained how Kachchh is rich in archeological wealth and also mentioned that many excavation sites are becoming tourist destinations.

To commemorate the first birth anniversary of Shrujan's founder, the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI), Shrujan felicitated 60 supervisors and 197 embroidery artisans. These women were involved in commendable embroidery and embroidery-related activities with Shrujan Creations.

Handicraft Mega Cluster Mission (HMCM) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) organised a seminar on the importance, relevance and application of packaging and barcodes in Shrujan LLDC.

A one-day craft fair for women members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) was organised at the LLDC campus.

A Kaththak dance performance by Danceguru Dharamshibhai Shah and his disciples from Kalakshetra, Bhavnagar, was held at LLDC as part of the Ashadhi Beej celebrations.

We initiated "World Music Day" through the Kala Varso Trust- Folk Music Artist Group program. The theme was "EKTA SANGEET", where they performed various folk music from different areas of Kutch.

From January 18 to 22, 2016, a promotional tour for artisans was held to inaugurate the LLDC. Several embroidery groups from the community were our first visitors at the inaugural Living Embroideries of Kutch exhibit.

On January 23, 2016, a historic day at 3:30 p.m., the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI) opened the ribbon and lit the lamp along with the late Kantisen Shroff (KAKA) and Ami Shroff who dedicated the LLDC Craft Museum.
