Seminar by Dalpatbhai Danidhariya held on August 5-7 at LLDC, with over 20 participants from Shrujan, LLDC, and Agrocel. The seminar provided insights into Kutch’s sanctuaries, wildlife, flora, minerals, and tourist spots. It also discussed the list of dignitaries who have visited Kutch in the past, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage, arts, and crafts. A truly enriching experience!
LLDC organized LLDC ART & CRAFT COMPETITION 2024. This competition was organized with the aim of making students aware of the handicrafts and culture of Kutch and to awaken creativity in them. 130 students from 6 schools across Kutch showcased their talents in this exciting one-day event.
The eleventh exhibition at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum was inaugurated with an artisan workshop. This exhibition showcases the beautiful embroidery stitch known by various names across different communities. The Ahir community calls it ‘Baawadiyo’, the Mutwa community refers to it as ‘Gotanv’, the Sodha-Jadeja and Meghwaad Maarwaada communities know it as ‘Hooramaji’, while the Rabaari community calls it ‘Naakaaru’. The Meghwaad Maaru community names it ‘Haramji’, and in the Node, Haalepotra, Raaysi, and Pathan communities, it is known as ‘Hooramaj’. This exhibition celebrates the rich cultural heritage and the artistry of these communities, preserving their unique embroidery traditions.
LLDC celebrated International Yog Day. Yoga Trainer Tejal Tripathi of the Gujarat Yog Board led a yoga shibir with Shrujan staff. Experimented with different yoga Asanas and solved the related questions and also gave the proper guidance.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, the research department gave a presentation on the entire research process. Together with some interesting facts about the museums in India.
On the occasion of the 91st birth anniversary of Reverend Chanda Shroff (KAKI) by the Shrujan family, the "Artisan felicitation ceremony" was held on February 27. 181 master artisans working with Shrujan were felicitated in this event.
In collaboration with Madhya Pradesh, LLDC presented LLDC Winter Festival 2024. There were cultural performances from M.P. & Kutch such as dance, music. Also other attraction such as craft bazaar, craft workshops, hands-on activities and food from M.P.
The tenth exhibition 'Mamadbhai Je Umbhre, Ajrakh: Family, Fabric and Fashion' was inaugurated at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful artifacts of Ajrakh block printing.
The LLDC Festival of Music 2023 took place this year from October 27 to 29. This three-day event celebrates different musical genres and traditions.

As a part of Pujya Kantisen Shroff 'Kaka' Birth centenary Year celebration, on the occasion of 2nd Punyatithi of late Shri Kantisen Shroff, LLDC organized an online-offline "LLDC Painting Competition: CHITRANJALI - 2023" with the support of Kutch Artist Society. More than 300 participants from all over Kutch participated.
The ninth exhibition 'Dastaan E Gul-Duzee: Embroideries of Afghanistan' was inaugurated at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with beautiful artifacts of embroidery from Afghanistan.
On the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of Reverend Chanda Shroff (KAKI) by the Shrujan family, the "Artisan felicitation ceremony" was held on February 27. 222 master artisans from more than 30 villages working with Shrujan were felicitated in this programme.
In previous years, LLDC organized the Folk Festival, which was presented as a winter festival in 2023. In collaboration with Sahajeevan and the Centre for Pastoralism, LLDC presented the exhibition Living Lightly - Journeys with Pastoralists. There were also cultural performances such as theatre, dance, music and film screenings, craft bazaar, craft workshops, hands-on activities and food.
In 2023, LLDC organised Natya Spardha (Drama Competition) for the first time in collaboration with Bhavan's Cultural Centre, Andheri. This competition was held in Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Surat. A total of 22 plays were performed by different groups. Of these, a total of 32 categories were awarded at Bhavan's Cultural Centre, Andheri Mumbai.
Kutch Nav Nirman ABHIYAN with many NGOs celebrated his Birth Centenary Year at LLDC for his exemplary contribution to social development, visionary guidance and immense involvement with the communities for their holistic development. They worked on thematic interventions like Jalmandir-water conservation, Ecosystem Restoration, Education and Literature, Redefining Traditional Crafts and Kutchi Folk Music(Reyan).
The eighth exhibition in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum shows the glorious history and future of weaving by Vishram Valji and his family.
LLDC organised for the first time a 3-day music event "Festival of Music 2022" The festival presented some versatile forms of music from all over India. It spread the melody of various music genres like Sufi, Indian folk music, contemporary fusion, Kabir-Vani, Aaradhi-Vani etc.
The one- day Navratri celebration was held at LLDC with the support of Agrocel Ind. Pvt. Ltd. Family members of all Shroff Group of Companies employees and NGOs participated. The winners of different categories were felicitated with gifts and there was a gift for all children below 7 years (100 kits).
On the occasion of the 6th Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI the entire staff of Shrujan and the members of the Shroff family gathered in the auditorium to express their feelings for Kaki.

A seminar on organ donation awareness was held by Shri Dilip Deshmukh and Dr. Mukesh Chande at LLDC. Many lives could be saved and many deaths avoided if organ donation is done at the right time.
LLDC celebrated the World Music Day under the title 'LLDC IDOL': an inter-group singing competition-2022. Employees of LLDC, Shrujan Creations, Agrocel, Solaris and VRTI-VRDI participated in this competition.

LLDC collaborated with Sindhology-Adipur to study how Kutch and Sindh cultures blend and form a single entity. In the morning session, experts spoke about Sindh culture. A drama in Sindhi language was also performed. In the evening programme, Sindhi folk music was performed by Mazharuddin Mutva Group.

Ramkrishna Mandal-Bhuj & Ramkrishna Mission-Rajkot organised a classical Indian music concert. Revered Swami Kruparanadaji of Ramkrishna Mission, Itanagar performed classical divine music. LLDC provided a platform and supported this concert.
Kutch Nav Nirman ABHIYAN organised the programme "Kaka Janmshatabdi Vandana" together with LLDC. Kantisen Shroff Kaka's ideology will be carried forward by various NGOs and companies CSR who have taken an oath to complete this task for one year. ABHIYAN, Kala Varso, VRTI, SFT, Agrocel CSR, SETU, VRTI Bhavnagar, GSS and KFFFDT initiated various interventions in different areas.
The sixth exhibition - 'Of Braids & Magic' - was dedicated to the braided craft creations of Errol Pires Nelson (ex-faculty of NID Ahmedabad) from Ahmedabad. The exhibition was inaugurated in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with fine artifacts of braiding craft.
Handicraft Service Centre - Bhuj organised a handicraft awareness programme in LLDC. Between December 8 and 14, Handloom Week is celebrated in India.
LLDC organised a workshop on garment design with buttons by fashion designer Anuj Sharma. He works mainly on sustainable apparel design. Aristans, staff and other interested people participated in this workshop.

In 2021, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, LLDC decided not to organise the Heritage Festival (in the past we called it Folk Festival). So we celebrated on virtual platforms with Bhavan's Cultural Centre in Mumbai. Virtually, Kutch and Saurashtra presented cultural programmes.
The fourth exhibition 'Banaras - A Brocade Story' featuring artifacts made of Banarasi brocade was opened at the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum. No official opening took place due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
On the occasion of 4th birth anniversary of the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI) and the 50th anniversary of Shrujan, Shrujan felicitated retired artisans, posthumously deceased artisans and those who worked for Shrujan Creation for more than 25-35 years. A total of 900 women artisans were honoured at the celebration.
On the occasion of Shrujan's 50th anniversary celebration, a long service award ceremony was held to honour employees who have worked for the organisation for more than 10 to 45 years with a gift and a certificate.
The 'LLDC Folk Festival 2020 with Jammu & Kashmir, An Expression of Unity in Diversity' from January 19-23, 2020, celebrating crafts, food, dance and music. During this festival, Kutch exchanged its culture with Jammu and Kashmir.
The legendary drama 'M. K. Gandhi Hajir Ho' played at LLDC Auditorium. The star cast Deepak Antani(Gandhiji), Mehul Buch(Advocate), and the team did a great job.
The famous Gujarati film 'Hellaro' was screened at the LLDC auditorium. As an art partner, LLDC gave a platform to the target audience.
Mr. Sotaro, Ms. Sotaro and Mr. hung gave a presentation on Japanese culture. They presented a folklore about Japanese weaving techniques. At the end, they demonstrated their clothing, a Japanese kimono, and the participants had fun wearing it.

The third exhibition "Zari - Fabric and Metal in Harmony" was inaugurated in the Inspiration Gallery of the LLDC Craft Museum with fine Zardozi artifacts.
On the occasion of the 3rd Punyatithi of Pujya KAKI Zardozi artisans demonstrated their elaborate zari work. Tapas Upadhyay, a singer from Madhyapradesh, sang Kabir Bhajans for the museum visitors. There was also free hands-on pottery making for museum visitors.

From January 18 to 22, 2016, a promotional tour for artisans was held to inaugurate the LLDC. Several embroidery groups from the community were our first visitors at the inaugural Living Embroideries of Kutch exhibit.
On January 23, 2016, a historic day at 3:30 p.m., the late Chanda Shroff (KAKI) opened the ribbon and lit the lamp along with the late Kantisen Shroff (KAKA) and Ami Shroff who dedicated the LLDC Craft Museum.
